This is a journal, of sorts, of an organic garden in SW Michigan. It is also an opportunity for its writer to vent about much that ails her.

A productive weekend
This was one of the things we did during this extra-warm, extra-long weekend. FIRE.
Is that your chicken enclosure? It's huge and should make three chickens safe as well as happy. Mine were out on Friday and Saturday taking dust baths and thoroughly enjoying the 60 degree temp. I should have been working on my garden but was hanging lights instead. Strange to be working up a sweat at the end of November.
Actually, Meredith, that's our arbor. Minuscule grape vines and kiwi are twining the bases. Next year, I am buying hop plants. It is my one major failure as a gardener!!
A city girl who realized upon the birth of her daughter that life is entirely too short to spend on 1/12th of an acre, she now digs up her weeds (usually with a pick) on 5.
Eat locally and sustainably Eat seasonally Shop at farmers' markets Plant a garden Conserve, compost and recycle Cook simply Cook together Eat together Remember food is precious
