This is a journal, of sorts, of an organic garden in SW Michigan. It is also an opportunity for its writer to vent about much that ails her. "Ut sementem feceris, ita metes." --Cicero

What a bummer! I hope it won't take too long to get water again for you guys. How are you coping without?
Ang, it will take over a week!!! Luckily, my in-laws (and their shower) live 15 miles north. Our neighbors are generously running a hose to our property, and we can use their dishwasher at will, too.
It's like camping!
But I have so much canning to do!!!
If that well was where my water came from, I'd consider the 5K well spent. :)
(Ooh, inadvertent "well" pun.)
I lived off a neighbor's hose for several weeks once... Our plumber set it up so it serviced our whole house for water (dishwasher too, if we'd had one).
Life is hard, but fun.
Good luck!
CC: wow, we'd need a long hose (350') to get our neighbor's water! As it is, he's just stretched his front hose across his lawn so I can wash my veggies and refill the tubs for the toilets.
I feel so stupidly entitled. Isn't that maddening? I mean, I can't wash my hands in a sink, but isn't it something like a third of the world's population doesn't even have access to a toilet? People would be so LUCKY to have my problems. So I think it is all fine, this little inconvenience.
Just wish I had enough time to wash off a couple more wheelbarrows' worth of grapes, and process them too. But the way we've set things up here at the house, we don't have any tv dinners to resort to!
